A Blog Can Depict The Blogger’s Business Characteristics
Jul 10th, 2007 by Charles
Well, a person’s blog - no matter how he writes it so long as he is the very person who wrote it - can clearly depict his innermost business thoughts which eventually lead us to understand his inner business character.
Meaning of Business Character
There are many people who want to do business. Some might even be able to teach you how to do a business! But when you prompt them what they are doing and they answered they are still working for other people and start giving you excuses, you will realize this is the kind of inner character I am talking about.
Why Blogs Fail
When I look at some of the sites that are not making money, I can clearly understand why they failed… They might be committing themselves into this business fully… But when I start to look at their “past portfolios”, I can roughly gauge how this person is going to fail… One problem is that they refused to change… It’s a kind of comfort zone they have… When we are doing business, staying away from comfort zone is a very important factor to success! Why is it so? Because business is all about solving problems… When you have business, it means you have problems to solve! We can either sell them products to solve the problem, or we provide a service to solve the problem.
Signs of a failing blog
- You will see some inconsistencies in his postings… He might post nothing after every a few days…
- You don’t really see much activity in his blog… In terms of doing some make up on his blog or postings…
- You see dull posts written… probably just do it for the sake of doing it….
- You can even sense he is not happy in his blogging style…
- It is all showing in the words since words are the only clue given…
A blogger’s Characteristics
Just take a good scan at all the posts that he has been writing… You will start to see where his focus is. Don’t be taken in by what he said about what he wants to do… Just see what focus he is writing in the blog… If he posts a lot on cars, you can see how expensive his hobby might be… If he keeps on posting about various gadgets, he is one who really loves gadgets.. If the way he is writing is quite strict and no casual, you might expect him to be a serious person… If he keeps on posting on humorous stuff, he is a man of humour…
Matching Your Business Character With The Nature Of Your Business You Are In
Well, understanding a person’s character and matching it up with his blog theme, you might have a good guess whether he is going really far with this blog… A person who blogs seriously, you might take it for granted that he is a “serious car driver” who drives his “car” safely… (see the meaning of car analogy in this post) A person who blogs casually (but his blog is on something serious), you might guess he might be taking the car for a spin/detour before reaching his goal… No matter what you are doing, the nature of that business must match with your business character…
Your Business Character Can Determine What You Previously Worked As
If a blog is very strict talking about business stuff, you might want to see what’s his or her career background… It must be something relevant…
If the blog talks a lot about technical stuff, you might see that it’s from an IT student or an IT employee..
If he has nothing to talk about in his blog, he must be not of that business character… One day he might just leave if his persistence is not good…
If you have lots of experience in business world outside (nothing about blog)
If you do, you can even find out a person’s business character just by talking to him. Hearing how he is able to express himself in the various topics you are in, you will understand which business he might be suitable in… And you might even know what kind of personality he is that you might not want to hurt him…
Concluding
Take a good look at what you are doing and want to do… If you are not ready for a business, you might want to take in partner to assist you along… If you are ready, you might just whack the business with all you can…
Have fun playing in your business… Business is a hobby, it’s never a chore… It requires around 12 hours of your attention…
