Are You Sure You Can Make Money While You Are Making Friends?

Seriously, I don’t believe that many people can be both a promiscuous sneezer as well as a powerful sneezer. I refer to Seth Godin who has been teaching us about marketing, which I believe that his opinions are correct. When you refer a friend and you actually make money out of it, you are actually motivated by your money than your friend’s interest. And believe me that some people out there have no interest in making money. Or I should say they are not interested in making a lot of money.

It has been a while since network marketing has been around. Many traditional network marketing companies who used the motivation of money, are mostly falling apart by their very motivation. There seem to have no actual product in exchange for the cash (which is what we called “selling”). Some of the more successful network marketing companies managed to pull through when they have decided that they have to focus on the products, and their products must have the widest range possible in order to attract the right market.

Internet marketing has an effect which has an even more powerful way of selling. Internet marketing leverages on the network of the Internet to refer or to resell any certain product out there. In other words, we are of our own sales and marketing sole-proprietors of our own. It has been an even easier way of showing the pool of traffic who are interested in your website.

Promiscuous sneezers are basically people who refer products or services in return of some gains. It could be both monetary or non-monetary gains. And promiscuous sneezers tend to be quite powerful in their spreading of news. When you are individual on your own outside, your most powerful way of spreading news is probably through your friends and anybody within your reach of communication. It takes a lot of effort to become an effective promiscuous sneezer and I seriously don’t believe that you can attract even more promiscuous sneezers who attract even more on their own in the network marketing industry. It is always the 80/20 rule over here where the 20% of the people making 80% of the money. Hence, most of the network marketing distributors will not make it through while helping their 20% of the company strength to become really rich.

On the other hand, promiscuous sneezers are very effective on the Internet side. Don’t believe any word about sleeping while making money online! That don’t really work in today’s Web 2.0. We are all talking about socializing in the Internet, making more friends here. And making more friends doesn’t mean you are out there to catch them to give you some money… It actually means that you are building up your credibility online which gives you the permission to sell to the bigger market out there who have to spend the money just to know you (or your company) through your products and services. This is what Seth Godin called it as choosing your hive. Choosing your hive is very important because if you are focusing to sell to everybody, you are making money from nobody!

Powerful sneezers are actually people who probably have their characteristic that people are pursuing for. They are absolutely making no money from you and are out there to spread the news for the good! Even if you try to approach them, they may not take your idea because they may feel their privacy is being infringed. This group of people is a bonus when they get to know who you are. And to give this kind of people the interest, they probably need a lot of references from various sources about you before they decide to spread things about you. This voices down to focus your strength on somebody else other than the powerful sneezers since they are your bonus rewards of your efforts.
