Being personal on the social media

This recently, I tried to become more personal on the social media.  I share my thoughts on Twitter, Facebook and Google Buzz.  It gives me a different idea about the three different platforms!

I found that twitter is really a micro blogging platform for me.  I stopped myself from thinking of it as a place to share links (like I always did in the past), and I started to blog in just 140 characters.  I tell myself to forget about the viral effects of tweets between followers, and just concentrate on blogging.  I also started to share a more personal side of me at my Facebook status update.  And on Google Buzz, I talk more about the tech stuff.

I have been finding out how I can differentiate my three different “micro blogs” that I have right now.  I tell myself not to share the same information across the three platforms because it really serves no purpose in the end since I found out that most of the people on Twitter are actually in Google Buzz as well.  There’s no point for me to tell the same story again and again.  But on the other hand, my blog post that I am writing right now will be shared in all three platforms eventually.  This is what I have set all along, and I think that if I have so much to say in a blog post like this, I might as well share it everywhere.  I know it is quite contradicting in a way, but the difference is that I will personally blog on the three different platforms for different contents.

Some random happenings from me personally

Since this topic is about being personal, I am also trying to write in a more casual way right now.  By the way, I wish to thank all the commentators who have been supporting this blog along the way!  This recently, I have been held up by my job to work on refining the contents since after the revamp project.  It was quite an interesting thing to do as it is teaching me a lot of things such as xpath, ajax and many other things…

And just to let you know, I was trying out creating my first Facebook application and it failed to call the API still… Have to figure out if I have downloaded the client library successfully or not.

Not to forget, I am preparing my new podcast as well.  The newly bought microphone is really good!  Now, I know there is really a difference when you buy a real microphone… PC microphone sucks, please throw them away.

Ok, I think that’s all for my ramblings right now.  Hope to see you again,  and I will keep on fine-tuning my social media profile to be more personal than before.  See ya!
