Blogging Industry Seems Like Going For A Face Lift…

I am seeing three bloggers who are changing their web interface… They are John Chow, Carl Ocab, and Darren Rowse. Amongst the three of them, it looks like there is a new trend of taking the blogging into a new stage of excitement and possibly what I called Blog 2.0… It is so exciting to see how the blogging is going into, which is no longer another journal to work on anymore.

While many blogs have the usual interface of having the blog entries on the front, I noticed a better usage of the front page to do an introduction for the new visitors which includes the following:

  1. Direct link to Popular Posts
  2. Direct link to Introductory Posts
  3. Newsletter Subscription
  4. A three column blog

They are now pushing the blog posts’ contents down by about 100 pixel or on the next page, making space for working out a Blog Cover for everybody to see. It is logical to see that a blog really needs some introduction of itself or else it wouldn’t have a better conversion rate of its new visitors. New visitors usually need to motivate themselves to come back to check out the blog for more before they are familiar with the blog to become frequent readers.

I remember the first time when I browse on Darren Rowse’s blog. I didn’t know that this is the famous problogger.net for bloggers to learn. My first impression of this person is simply blogging about making money which seems like another normal website out there. Now, his new interface is simply fantastic… I believe anybody will know what his blog is all about…
