Blogging is Never About Working Hard, But Winning People’s Heart.

When we talk about blogging, it is almost hard to create sellable value previously mentioned because everybody seems to be able to write quality posts nowadays! Yes, working hard is probably part of success but it’s not really everything after all. It’s also not about working hard to create contents nowadays even though that’s what Google has been asking you for.

Content means New Traffic! So What?
Keep on writing on good contents will only bring you new traffic. But what will that mean? Yes! Great! New traffic! When Google sees your unique contents being added frequently, you will be liked a lot by Google crawler… And hence you have good search ranking for your website! People searching for contents will be referred to you from Google and other search engines.

Ok, so what? When I first blog, I was so happy to see Google sending traffic to me… But hey! Please check out the bounce rate in your Google Analytics… Now, you see a different story…

A blog with unique contents is not so helpful when you have a very high bounce rate! 100% bounce rate means when a new visitor first stumbles upon your site, he leaves immediately… Come on, you have great contents! But again, so what?

Staying in your blog long enough to understand what your visitors want
I tried blogging different topics inside my own blog. I tried focusing on one topic after another. Alvin even mentioned to me that I should do up some branding for my blog. If you take a look at his blog, you will see some form of branding he has done.

When we do consistent posting on our blog, it’s not only to create unique contents to feed Google… It’s also part of the growing stage to let us understand our readers in both new and returning traffic.

Which article website is attracting returning traffic?
The answer lies in your website which has information to attract me to come back for more! More means new contents to be built. Blogging is a slightly different article site from others. We are all coming back to look for new post to read. But for article website, we are coming back to look for an article to answer our questions.

Winning People’s Heart Lies In Your Blogging Plan!
Are you branding it under your name? Or you are branding it under a company’s name? Or you are branding it about a niche topic?

These are the questions we are looking into when winning people’s heart. While many readers will come and go, we just hope to capture some readers to be our friends to come back for more, hopefully to give us some comments.

If we can capture 10% of the new traffic to be our readers, we are quite successful already. And if we can capture a very high percentage of our readers to write comments, that will be perfect.

People are linking you! So should you link back?
Winning people’s heart may be about being reciprocal. However, there are simply too many bloggers and webmasters out there linking to you… So to link back or not, it all depends on your blogging plan. I usually link to people who are real bloggers out there who are writing frequently or communicating with me frequently.

We all like to do business with friends, not strangers!

I have a case where there’s a guy who approached me, saying that he has been an avid reader of my blog. Wanting me to add him in my blogroll. I appreciated his approach very much… But I kindly told him that this is the first time I know of his presence… And I may not know if he is a real blogger, staying for long in the Internet arena.
