I thought this might be an interesting idea that we should hold “Office hours” session to have a chat with your colleagues and customers about your products and services. This idea came from Harvard Business Review when Bill Taylor thought of taking an hour or two out on every working week, and discuss about how we can improve our products and services.
This idea is actually quite noble, although it is already been used during the school days when we ask our lecturers out for a discussion.
You can be surprised that many big and small companies are focusing so much on their actual day-to-day job that they have forgotten how to be more productive in their jobs. Many of them may just want to be an average worker, but this calling of “office hours” by the CEOs can actually improve the working relationships and talk about something which any average worker will never thought they will voice out like this! It can’t be a huge group for sure because many of them will shy away because of the huge crowd.
And this kind of productive “gossip” can improve our thoughts, and make us willing to work harder. It can be really motivating to see what we can do to make a better company!
