All these while if you have noticed, I have been trying to find my own writing style. I wrote my blog in different ways until I found my own style. Writing has even made me found my calling when I was writing a short story of me and my girlfriend… It took me just a few minutes to write something which I was astonished myself even! My girlfriend even starts to see my talent in it and I am even looking into my decision to be an author as my career…
And yet, I am still evolving in my writing style when Desi Baba posts something for me to ponder about. That is to write in list, straight to the point and maybe with a little emphasis…
Desi baba talks about getting to the point in our writing in his blog. I have been writing my blog in the following style:
- Introduction paragraph
- Writing a headline to summarize every paragraph I am writing
- Conclusion paragraph
Writing Your Blog In Point Form
He mentioned something worthy for me to look at. That is to write my blog in lists and get straight to the point first. In the paragraphs later, I will then emphasize further about my points. That’s a good way of blogging I will try it out.
It actually reminded me of someone who told me that a book can actually be written out in just one piece of paper… But it’s because the public wouldn’t want to buy a book with only 1 page at the price of $20 and above. Even if that piece of paper contains knowledge which worths a lot, people would want to read as much as possible.
So in actual fact, I believe that in every blog that we wrote, it can actually be converted into a book if we wanted to. That’s because every book is just emphasizing a lot on the few points only. They only added pictures and stories to dramatize it..
Nothing to write about? Don’t BS in your blog to keep it going!
In fact, as Desi baba mentioned, we can be blogging up to a stage whereby we will start to write BS and adjectives so as to keep the blog going and long… His recommendation is not to write at all when we reached which we don’t know what to write about and start to BS around. Well, I would suggest writing something about yourself if you can’t find anything to write about. A blog’s blood comes from its contents, and we shouldn’t BS around if we reached the terminal stage of unable to write.
Usually if I couldn’t find anything to write about, I would start surfing around reading other people’s blog. And like this blog post, I will start to write my “comments” in his topic under my own blog.
But I must admit that I have been squeezing my brain for topics to write about in the past to fill up my daily goal of many blog posts in a day… That is not the right thing to do… And I wouldn’t recommend anybody to do the same… Because it gives everybody an impression that this blog is churning out lots of blog posts every few minutes! With that kind of impression, it wouldn’t be right for you to tone down your blog frequency as you will start to see your number subscribers dropping drastically!
My Conclusion!
The best way is to write straight to the point with some explanation, and publish it! Nothing beats the time of a reader who wants to finish reading the most crispy part fast!
