Have You Ping Your Blog Today?

As I was working on my blog, I learnt that there are ping servers for us to inform our blog posts. What the blog program did was to ping one or more servers each time the blogger creates a post or updates the old one. Which means it sends an XML-RPC signal to the ping server(s), which can then generate a list of blogs that have new materials.

Different ping servers have different usage of the blogs pinging in. Some use it to become a news site for the visitors to check out the latest trends. Some use it to rank the most popular blogs. Some use it as a search engine to search for any terms related to the blogs in the world.

Well, it used to be s Ping-o-matic doing the job of helping bloggers to ping to all other servers once it is being pinged. However, as the number of the blogs increases, other ping services have come in as well such as Pingoat and BlogFlux Pinger.

There is an increase of Ping Spam whereby the websites act like a blog to ping the servers. Oh man, if you want to take advantage of a blog spreading, use a blog! Use your brain to think… (oh don’t use other parts of your body to think…)

Here are the available ping servers now that you might want to include in your blog program:

That’s one way of spreading the news fast for any online business that you might want to get into. Blog is fast, updated constantly, and you got to keep chasing.. It’s a never ending marathon..

I learnt all these from wikipedia! Here’s the link.
