How to market your uploaded YouTube videos?

Everybody contributes his or her part in uploading some video to YouTube to share with the world… They either did it for fun, hobby display, marketing for their existing business, content business for both affiliates and manufacturers, video blogging, email attachments to individuals (might not be good if it’s too confidential), or just some multimedia that they want to upload to share with the world…

Very basic technical ways of marketing your video
Whatever your reason is regarding, how are we going to let the whole world know about your video? Basically we can do it in one of the following ways:

  • Upload to all video sharing websites to target all the video watchers who are just looking around to kill boredom.
  • Make sure your tags with the uploaded videos are correctly named.
  • Embed it on relevant websites (blogs, forums, content sites, comparison sites, etc) where the targeted traffic is…
  • Do it as a sponsor, forum regular, blogger, commentator or website owner to embed your video with their sites.
  • Make sure the sites where the video is are filled with relevant keywords (for targeted traffic purpose).

Video has no words to target for search engines
Where it might be impossible to be keyword-targeted for video, it is still possible to surround the relevant keywords where the video is. It is just like a software review where we wrote relevant keywords to attract targeted traffic to download that piece of software.

Creative marketing techniques to increase market share
With those few technical marketing ways, we shall now look into ways whereby we can increase our market share. The meaning of market share is to let as many people in the world know about this video as possible, and that they will want to embed it on their own websites for any reason that they can find. Check my other post for more information about market share using video.

Take for example that you have a hobby about the various sports cars in the world. You might have access to take videos of those cars probably because it is your daily job there in the racing track.

Let’s see step by step how to increase market share with your video with or without your own website:

  1. Take as many videos about the various interesting scenes you have encountered at the racing track.
  2. Think of a theme, and compile all the various videos into that theme. (You could use “Windows Movie Maker“.) Put your brand at the side of the video either with a name or a domain name.
  3. Upload it to YouTube and all other video sites.
  4. Blog about it, or update your website about this video. If you don’t any website, you might want to start a blogger.com account and start writing something about that video. No matter what you do, you have to surround the keywords around that video…
  5. Share it out with your friends… Maybe they could also blog about it too…
  6. Let all the various blogs which promote interesting videos know about your video!

While marketing your video could be a difficult thing to do, there is yet a contradiction that video can market any product much more easier than just text and it also turns out that marketing a video that promotes a product is double easier!

Let’s take a look at another idea of using your video to market your product (step by step):

  1. You have the product. And you have a website. And so you want to use the video to market as far as you can.
  2. You could start working on an informal advertisement about your product with that video. Restrict yourself up to 10 minutes. And think of an interesting concept with the aim of making people laugh! Your goal is to make people laugh with a video that surrounds around that product you want to talk about. Make sure that you laugh about it every time you watch it!
  3. So, you can upload it to YouTube, tagged it properly with the correct keywords.
  4. Spread the video link to all your friends via email.
  5. Let all the relevantly-themed video websites know about your video so that they can embed your video either for a fee, or as part of their daily contents.
  6. Spread as much as you can. You can be almost sure that many people out there will also spread as much as they could if they could find a reason to spread it for you because it is so hilarious!

Conclusion
The whole idea of embedding a video is to let the whole world see. Simply said, a video can be just a marketing tool for your products, or it can be a media to spread your thoughts to let everybody know. When you are out of idea how to market your video, start to think why you create this video for… You will start to think creatively how to market it properly… Have fun video marketing! :)
