It was on 20 April when I wrote a review about Producteev on my startup Internet review blog.  It has been quite a while now till the founder – Ilan – emailed me with some exciting news about Producteev.

What is Producteev??  To cut the long story short, Producteev has built a Group Task Management application that is evolving into a full-featured Productivity platform connected to IM, Email, Twitter, Mobile, Desktop, Popular Productivity Applications.

Producteev has several things to announce for their launch planned on September 2nd.  So let me just copy and paste some of his materials over here together with my thoughts…

Let’s start with some news-breaking from the company

  • Have just secured new Angel funding with Aydin Senkut, Oleg Tscheltzoff, Oliver Jung and other previous investors.
  • Have been selected among the 10 startups that will be part of the 2009/2010 class of the First Growth Venture Network, a 1 year program for High Potential Entrepreneurs mentored by successful Entrepreneurs, VCs and Business Angels
  • Have just hired a new Head of Sales, Martin Huegli, Canadian Citizen, former exec at Xing.com

Let’s check out the milestones of the company

  • 10,000 Beta Testers
    Producteev just reached the 10,000 beta testers milestones, with a 10% active rate and more than 115,000 tasks processed. All types of users came to Producteev but mainly Start-Ups, Students and Individuals
  • Universities
    Since Producteev became quickly popular towards the Students’ crowd, Producteev initiated talks with Universities, who are interested in white labelling Producteev for their students. Producteev will start announcing their first exciting partnerships pretty soon.
  • Out of Beta
    Producteev is launching their Version One, i.e. the commercial version of a product which they have been baking in beta for 1 year now.  Producteev is introducing their pricing as well as some premium features ranging from free (individuals and students) to $99 a month (for an unlimited plan), though most of the users will be interested in the $19 / month / company plan (up to 10 users).  (Find out how to get this $99/month for free for 12 months below!)

So what is Producteev?

Producteev is an intuitive and fully drag & drop-able solution to collaborate with your colleagues over shared projects and tasks.  By the way, you may want to check out my website review of Producteev when they were still in beta.  Or just take a tour here to find out Producteev!

I will run through some of the key features that Producteev has to offer to the users:

  1. “Crowdsource Your Tasks”
    Producteev not only helps the users manage, share and organize their tasks in group, Producteev can also help them to complete those tasks!
    How did that happen?  Basically, the users just need to make some of their tasks public, and then publish them to social media (i.e.  Twitter, Facebook, and others such as LinkedIn) so as to ask for help from your network to complete them!  The helpful person will authenticate himself/herself through their account with Facebook/Twitter/Producteev, and comment on your task directly!  Immediately, the task is connected!

  2. Mobile Collaboration
    Since the beginning, Producteev is focusing on replicating the web experience on our mobile phones.  And Producteev is announcing a few mobile clients today:  Producteev is launching the V2 of their iPhone app, available on the app store, their Android application available on the Android Market, and a new Blackberry client set to be released in the next few days. They are also remain available on Windows Mobile and Nokia.   Well, probably no other collaboration tool is currently available on that many mobile platforms…

  3. Productivity apps aggregation
    In Producteev’s “Activity Feed”, they have also allowed other various feeds such as Google Docs, Google Reader, Twitter, Docstoc, GitHub, SlideShare to be included in it.  It’s almost similar like “Frienfeed for your Productivity apps”!

There are a couple more features within!  I think it’s best to leave them to your exploration when you sign up.

Also, below are some of the soon-to-launch features!

  1. They are also integrating Meebo Community IM so you’ll be able to chat with your colleagues from Producteev / Producteev will be in JoliCloud pretty soon
  2. They are launching their OpenSocial application on Xing in the middle of October / Export deadlines and reminders to iCal, Google Calendar and Outlook.

  • Is It possible to use my Gold Membership on two accounts on the same X box I have my Account which has Gold and My Girlfriends Account, I want to use my gold membership with hers so that I don't have to pay for hers as well. It seems harsh if I do.

    Hi Charles, I chance on to this platform from the Facebook group "Entrepreneur SG", where you posted the link. Being new to your website, i believe there are tons of interesting stuff for me. Will slowly explore. Will share with the rest of my FB network.

    Firstly, thanks for the opportunity given to the readers to earn themselves a producteev gold a/c. Without clicking on the link, i wouldn't have chance upon such a awesome tool. It served as a platform for ALL our connectivity and productivity needs. It has bring "work" and "social" together, capitalizing the potential of social media, to maximize productivity on work. I can also sense the element of "Fun" within this platform. This definitely will revolutionize how productivity work can be organised.

    Being a manager, i'm definitely going to fall in love with this. On the other hand, i believe the "team members" is not going to enjoy it.... why? cos they know that their tasks are more closely monitored by their bosses ..... therefore, for those who going to try this, pls implement with care, especial how your team members feels about it. A "Change Management Plan" may be required.

    I'm a manager in a SME, managing a group of 4 engineers. We deal with projects for the company and such tools going ease our burden alot. IT supports for productivity tools is definitely not on the priority list of the company. Hence, we have used more 1G method of keeping track of tasking. I hope we are earn this chance to go 3G.

  • It's great to see two more commentators when I am back to check on the status of the contest. It seems to me that Michael from the non-for-profit charity is the most eligible for the gold account.

    Nevertheless, we have Paul here who attempted at least. Who knows anyway that I may not be able to find all the bigger players who need this account even more than him?

  • I am a software developer running a small team (around 10 people) so I don't really need 100 licenses. I am currently wringing a book on time management and am always checking out new tools that can help with productivity. Weather I win a copy or not I will be checking out more details on producteev.
  • I have just discovered our blog and I discovered Producteev yesterday by looking for a greal tool to improve my productivity on the web with collaborators at school and web project. Producteev seems to be the best tool (nowadays) to organize my work by using the different platforms available.

    I would be very pleased to get a gold member account to have a full access to the service (however i'm a student) but it could be interesting for me to have 1Gb for files storage. Thanks for your reading !

    We're a not-for-profit charity that conducts free training around the world, mainly in developing nations to develop students to their full potential in advocacy for minority religious groups.

    Producteev will allow us to assign tasks for our volunteers and past students who want to contribute. This would save an enormous amount of time and effort. It will allow our own "local" volunteers who are spread all over the place to collaborate more effeciently and effectively.

    I am commenting in support of Kate. I can vouch that she is a complete organization nerd and is always looking to find the latest and greatest organization programs/tools. Producteev would be the perfect fit for her and her business partner's up and coming IT company.

    Kate loves technology and loves organization. You really could not find a better recipient of a Gold account. She will tell every friend, family member, business associate, client, Biggby barista, bank teller, cashier, woman walking down the street pushing a stroller... about the new programs she is using until we feel guilty and unorganized and start using it for ourselves. If she loves a program we will know about it.

  • I am addicted to organizational management and Producteev could be the cure to my endless searching for a project management tool that allows me and my unorganized business partner. Producteev is something that can work for both of us PLUS allows us to integrate our clients into the task management side of our day to day work.

    Why Gold for Free?? We are small. We are growing. And growing. We are small, mighty, and in need of Producteev to keep ourselves sane and our clients happy!!

    Plus, people in my life come to me for tips on software, programs, organizational management, etc.... and of course, I promote what I like and what I use. I bring residual income ;-)
