It has been a while since I have last used a chat messenger

This recently, I have been meddling with my Windows 7 operating system.  So far, I think it has hung on me for about 10 times now after using it for about 1 week.  It is quite disappointing as my Windows XP was actually much more stable except that it will be a little slow as my laptop is already 6 years old.

I don’t think I will want to revert to Windows XP anymore, but I will be hopeful that Microsoft will be enhancing this Windows 7 to be more stable.

Ok, enough of my grumbling.  Because of my new usage, I have also installed MSN messenger and Yahoo messenger.  I realized that I have not been using MSN messenger than any of my friends!  In fact, I use Twitter much more because I am much more interested in building a personal brand of myself than to spend time chit chatting away.  Recently, I am trying to book for a family trip to Batam.  So I found this particular hotel which happens to have an online chat using Yahoo Messenger.  Hence, I used Yahoo Messenger to chit chat with the helpdesk to query about my booking for hotel.  I find that it feels much more sincere when we can chit chat on the spot.  It gives me a sense of being personal to what I need to ask from that hotel!

MSN and Yahoo messenger are probably one of the most useful online chat today.  If we can do it properly, we will be able to create an online chat with our customers and giving that sense of being personal!  Even though you are representing a company, your name will create another type of representation online.  It’s very hard for me to explain over here in just plain text… Hence you have to give it a try to understand that kind of feeling.

It’s also probably because I am getting more and more sensitive to words since I have been facing words as part of my marketing communication everyday on my job and on my Internet review hobby.  I don’t really want to waste too much time on chit chatting on messenger, it is still a good idea to keep it online just in case some opportunity knocks… Don’t you think so?
