There Are Two Kinds Of Entrepreneurs

From the people I have met, I have come to a simple thought that there are two kinds of entrepreneurs in this world. The first type is one who is working according to his business philosophy he has come up with. The second type goes with the flow and add on to his business philosophy. They are both right in their own ways. Both have got the potential to grow their business very well. But both have crashes with each other if they ever met…

Stick to his philosophy
I wouldn’t say that he is not flexible in his thoughts. In fact, if he has money to make, he might be taking the deal anyway. Most importantly, he has a set of “rules” in his head that business should not be too flexible to be done in another way. For example, a drinks company cannot sell water bottles with it… That’s his rule. It can be hard to give up this idea because it really worked in his environment, and if he is proven wrong that a drinks company can really sell water bottles, he is probably shutting off to that person who proved him wrong with a certain reason or excuse that his rule is still correct!

Having such a person in the company is probably good at a later stage where everything starts to settle down, or when there is a huge investment to pump the whole company up instantly. Having more money at hand, the entrepreneur has to make sure that everything is working properly and according to the system he has devised.

Too flexible in business
This is another type of entrepreneur who is too flexible… When one thing comes in, he will take it and see how this thing can be part of the picture in the business… He simply takes in everything that he can which probably makes him a perfect entrepreneur in a startup company where the capital investment is too low… Where too little money is involved, mistakes can still be made to do trial and error.

Having this kind of person in the company is good at the initial stage where everything is still not settled down, or money is too little. However, this person is prone to be lured to do many other different businesses which make him too off-focused… Not too good either. But still necessary in the start up of a company!

Playing with the two ideas
The above two ideas are more or less the extreme type. Human beings tend to have a balance of both, being more towards one side… It depends on the situation as well… Where one situation makes a person be too flexible, he might get inflexible in other situation.

Conclusion
No matter which kind of entrepreneur you are, the most important thing is to stand by your words and be that person. Make yourself as consistent as you can in all your work, not confusing yourself and anybody who wishes to work with you.
