Many experienced marketers in Asia are expert in marketing for the mass. But when they are marketing to any particular unsatisfied customer, they may not have done well and will push the responsibility to the customer service department.
The way how a big corporation does business in the past many years is no longer the same. There is a need for different departments to work together as a team. Employees can also be like TV stars and start talking to the social media.
Employees cannot work in their little working space, hiding behind the brand thinking that the complaints in the social media are not going to hunt them down.
All these are actually happening because the media is now public! It is no longer owned by the people who have big bucks to spend to borrow some air time to spam all of us. Now, everybody is on equal ground to talk to one another.
While this is happening, companies are still quite reluctant to change simply because it involves a big change in the whole company structure as well as human mentality of the older generations. The older generation simply never understand why we actually need to share our web space with the social websites at all when they can only think of how much security is compromised, etc…
Any thoughts about this?
