Believe it or not, your potential customer may sometimes don’t wish to disappoint you by saying “no” to you immediately. This kind of customer is so kind to you that he does not know that he is wasting your time. Instead, he will like to use time to let you understand his meaning. Everytime you call, he will just give you a very nice and meaningful excuse for you to call him again next time to find out if he is interested.
A good customer is one who is able to tell you straight that he wants this thing, and he wants it now! He will be more panicking than you to get it from you because of certain reasons he has inside him. Fulfilling this kind of customer will probably earn you some points when you do a good job for him.
Sometimes, when a potential customer rejects your offer, he actually has a difficulty for you to solve it. This is where you will want to assist him wherever you can. Until you solve his problem and yet he is putting you on hold, there must have a certain reason for him not to give you the deal. Perhaps he is not the one who has the money power. Perhaps he is just finding out more and learning things at your expenses. Perhaps he has somebody else in mind already. Until you solve his problem, the rule of thumb is to follow up with him for up to five times before you let him go and decide for himself.
Following up is a very important stage in every business. It gives the potential customer an ample time to give the product or service some thought about it. And if he is not ready for it, he might not go for it. The only irritating part is when a customer refuses to tell you that he is not going for it. So, you could just follow up manually for up to five times, and the rest you shall leave it to your auto-responders to assist you.
Finding out if a customer has an urgent need for your product is a very important stage. When you put up contents on your website, you are basically giving a presentation to any potential client out there. And when they finally sound out, that’s where you are given a chance to prove yourself. Hence, in your website, it should equip as many “sound-out” equipment as possible to ask that potential customer.
