What Anti-Virus Software Do You Use?

I have always been using McAfee anti-virus software for the past few years. I must admit that it is a pretty good software which helps me in keeping my computer up and running well. Then, I remember using Norton Anti-virus quite some time ago. It was quite good too. And now, I am trying to promote AVG anti-virus software to my customers even though I have never used it myself. What’s so good about AVG anti-virus software?

Somehow, I think that AVG is trying to dominate the market in two things. First of all, they provide free anti-virus software for consumers at home which they actually promote their anti-virus software through every email that the consumers sent. Then, I found out that AVG is also trying to make their pricing competitive with McAfee and Norton but AVG is providing two years subscription while the first two are only providing one year.

I must tell you that I can close AVG deals with customers all because it is cheaper to buy than McAfee and Norton. But of course, AVG makes a niche in themselves by making their software as light-weight in processing as possible. Norton has always been heavy-duty in their processing, which causes the system to run slower than before even though they are fantastic to maintain the computer at tip top condition.

I had a bad experience using McAfee two years ago when I was doing a transfer of my web files from one server to another through my laptop. After the files were residing in my computer, McAfee detects some virus in my files. Alright, I’ll have it scanned and cleaned… However, while McAfee was trying to clean my file, it actually deleted my whole zip file away! This zip file was my backup of all my information on the web! And the interesting thing is that I was talking to McAfee support about it but they couldn’t do anything and simply ignore me! What an experience with McAfee… I can tell you why I renewed my McAfee… That’s because they actually automatically renewed my subscription the next year… I just forget about the whole matter…

Nowadays, it has become essential for every computer accessing the Internet to install anti-virus software. It has become a very scalable business… It has turned to a stage of income automation for the companies. While the software requires only single focus from the company to be very updated, it is being used in millions of copies around the world. And repeated customers are paying for renewals for continual protection of their systems. It’s now only a matter of which software to use…
