Yahoo Is Helping You To Curb The Difficulty With Customizing A Web Design!

by Charles on 20 March 2008

While I am still working on the WordPress theme on my own, I do realize there are a lot of width problems and a lot of customization to do with CSS. I was pretty stuck for the last 2 weeks about this CSS design until I come across Yahoo User Interface. Most of my problems has been solved because of their incredible YUI library. I have been a fan of Google and not Yahoo all along, hence I tried to look for Google doing similar library for me to use. Unfortunately, I can only find Yahoo giving such a library… Are you ready to Yaahoooo?

Yahoo has come up with a set of standard library for us to use to curb with multiple standards set by different browsers. It is so interesting to note that the standard is set by W3C, and yet the ones who create the browsers are from Microsoft, Mozilla and other companies. And the very sad story is that these browsers may have some serious problem in their coding and they just treat it as their strength. And hence, they all have different standards of displaying the websites.

Thank you Yahoo for giving us a hand in sharing with us your secret of creating websites that is compatible with probably everybody so that our business can go so much more smoother. Let’s have a good look at the things that they offer freely in this video. Please note that this is quite intensive technically.

After going through the video several times, I finally understand what Nate Koechley is trying to teach about CSS. I have been going through the pains of understanding CSS layouts ever since I am so used to coding them in table tags. It’s a whole new learning curve for me as I am trying to code my own WordPress theme using CSS.

As an Internet Reviewer that I am portraying myself to be, I have to understand the web business and marketing like an entrepreneur, and also to understand the kind of background work that a computer programmer is going through to understand. While I may be proficient in programming generally due to my IT background since 1997, I have been working on offline business since late 2003 till mid 2007. While I did play with affiliate marketing along the way in 2005 and 2006 as a hobby and made a few bucks from clickbank back then, I didn’t focus myself into this business as I have other business to handle at that time. And since I have been programming websites for companies back in 1998 and playing with server software in 1999, I am really excited to share with you guys about websites through my video reviews as well as text reviews. My thoughts and opinions about the websites I am coming across. I had also set up a web design company back in 2004 for half a year with two friends. So, it’s pretty fun to look at those websites and give my reviews about it.
