How To Get Your Video Embed Code Into WordPress?
Jul 10th, 2007 by Charles
When we copy and paste the code under the “code” tab, and switch to “visual” tab, the codes are screwed up!
Here’s an example of an original code:
<object width=”425″ height=”350″><param name=”movie” value=”http://www.youtube.com/v/NopuJ_OYjsk”></param><param name=”wmode” value=”transparent”></param><embed src=”http://www.youtube.com/v/NopuJ_OYjsk” type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” wmode=”transparent” width=”425″ height=”350″></embed></object>
Here’s the screwed up code after Rich Visual Editor reads your post:
<object height=”350″ width=”425″>
<param name=”movie” value=”http://www.youtube.com/v/NopuJ_OYjsk”></param>
<param name=”wmode” value=”transparent”></param><embed src=”http://www.youtube.com/v/NopuJ_OYjsk” type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” wmode=”transparent” height=”350″ width=”425″></embed></object></p>
It is so hassle… And I hope WordPress team will get this resolved in the following way:
- When opening the post for editing, start with the “code” tab instead of the “visual” tab… Let us edit our video codes properly before the “visual” tab screws it up!
Ok, let’s take a look at the workarounds of the WordPress to add in an embedded code… This is applicable for video, audio, or any other codes you need, even though the video is talking about youtube video only..
i haven’t done a video post on my blog yet, but i will heed this advice
