Marketing Your Websites

Nowadays, people have been looking into getting their websites in the top search ranking. Being in the top ranking in the search engine is like a dream of everybody because that will mean many visitors will swamp into your website. This remains true in Singapore especially when they don’t know what else they can do for their websites. Most websites in Singapore tend to be quite boring and are like online brochures for their customers to see.

Singapore Style of Marketing
Most Singapore companies that I know of are marketing their websites through their direct sales, name cards, flyers, newspapers, fax-spam and email-spam. They only know how to do broadcast marketing, which can be very costly and have to depend a lot on your luck for someone to catch the ad. It seems to be the only way to do for most Singapore companies. The very next thing they know is about buying Pay-Per-Click advertisements, or to wait for their websites to be crawled by the search engines hoping to enter some rankings for some search terms.

This is so sad thing for Singapore companies. And hence, I believe the SEO companies in Singapore must have great opportunities over here to show our companies what they can do for their websites.

United States Style of Marketing
The US people have come to a conclusion of doing multiple styles of marketing. They have been utilizing Pay-Per-Click advertising for their measurable returns-on-investments. The very next thing that they can do is to do more social marketing through the variety of social websites such as Facebook, Friendster and MySpace… Also in Video sharing websites such as YouTube, MetaCafe and Photobucket… And also in the blogosphere which is an independent platform for every blogger online to determine its shape for the future.

This is what we called the aggregate marketing where it accumulates in numbers over the time, and the people who are exposed to the marketing are free to air their views to the public about the marketing campaigns.

Marketing Your Websites
Everybody now knows how easy it is to create a website. Everybody also knows how a website can make you internationally known. Everybody also knows that they have to do marketing in order for their easily-accessible websites to be accessed by visitors around the world.

It has brought to my attention about there is about a new change coming into the world of Internet where the websites are now getting more and more accessible because of the increasing number of social websites. Social marketing seems to be the new thing coming online for everyone of us to tap on. It’s only a matter of time when everybody on earth will be able to do a part-time online business at least as part of their income sources.

    Hi Charles,

I totally agree with what you’re saying here. Most Singaporeans have failed even in simple marketing techniques like forum marketing.

Singaporeans sort of just think that by spamming their website URL in forums and bumping it will cause their website to be famous. Most often, this act backfires.

Hi Christopher, thanks for dropping by. Spamming is the “proven” method used in Singapore. While it is true that if you can get as much exposure as you can so as to increase the chance of doing business, it can be really irritating for most people especially when we have to print rubbish on our fax machine, receiving tens of emails to delete which is taking up our time, seeing useless websites everywhere only to see “under construction”… Talking about forum marketing, I strongly recommend that you should take a look at KC Tan’s website at http://www.kchut.com

    Hi Charles and Christopher,

I’m glad that you have found my blog useful :)

I agree that social marketing is the next big bang as Internet users are using Facebook and youtube more often than Google now and guess what, sometimes I do a search in youtube before Google.. :D

I believe Singaporeans are catching up and its time for us to gain some attention :)
