Most blog readers tend to be bloggers themselves. The likely chance for the bloggers giving comments is so much higher than a pure reader of blogs. In fact, there seem to have a lot of non-bloggers who don’t like to read blogs probably because they might have misunderstood of blog as a way of expressing themselves which is “wrong” to them. This group of misunderstood non-bloggers will try to shy away from blog-related sites such as the feed directory, blog directory, blog search and the actual blogs themselves!

About Blog Readers
Probably bloggers tend to read other people’s blogs for one of the following reasons:

  1. Get involved in the blog’s comments community,
  2. to attract more crowd into their blogs,
  3. be exposed of their online presence to the world.
  4. to learn more about how other blogs work,
  5. or to really read the contents and learn.

There are probably two kinds of Finders

  1. Blog Finders: There are people who purposely go to blog directories or blog search engines to search for blogs talking about a certain topic.
  2. Website Finders: There are people who want to search for information websites

There are probably two kinds of blog readers here:

  1. The ones who read and give comments. They really want to learn, and to participate in the everyday blogging community.
  2. The ones who don’t read but give comments. They probably just want to make the best exposure of themselves.

Different kinds of attraction to a blog:

  • When you attract a new visitor to your blog with your theme titled “Make Money Online”, you are telling the visitor that you are going to tell him or her about making money online.
  • Of if you attract a new visitor who chanced upon your blog because of a search about “real estate investment” when your theme is titled “Make Money Online” but you happened to like real estate news and wanted to write something about it, that visitor is going to see that piece of real estate information and leave if he is not interested in making money online.
  • You see this blogger’s high activity in other blogs in terms of posts exposure, and comments exposure, so you want to take a look at what he or she does in his or her own blog.

The ideal situation of blog attraction
People are able to find your blog via search engine or website links. If you are able to show your linkage to a certain niche so that when a website introduces your link to its visitors or a search engine refers relevant keywords to its visitors, your visitors who are coming to your site will find themselves in a wealth of information they have been searching for. Isn’t that wonderful for the readers?

Furthermore, you might want to talk a bit about yourself so that you can get closer to the readers who are able to share their concerns about your everyday life… Of course, this kind of posts will usually be cold to new visitors and will not attract the right visitors because of the irrelevant keywords. So it’s a give and take situation now.

I like this post of yours, very interesting and I could relate it. Do you write it own your own based on your observation or based on other articles?

Thanks! It is actually based upon my own experience while writing my own blog right over here. I found some of the keywords which I ranked much higher than the rest when I merely just made a rambling out of it.
Take for example, I was merely rambling about my laptop problem, when I actually attracted a lot of traffic from this search term “lcd laptop flickering”
It is so amazing that I have attracted a lot of traffic who are looking for lcd problem but they have just come upon a marketing blog…

Nice analysis. Blogging is one of my hobbies. I’m always more interested in gaining readers than gaining traffic.
