It is very easy to start a blog. But to create a successful blog, there seem to have a formula to follow. In my opinion, a successful blog is one which can generate revenue for you so much that you can actually do it as your full-time job. Jane May wrote a guest blog post at John Chow dot Com, saying about the things we will face when starting a new blog. Jane May tends to write blogs great enough to attract our attention. And I believe in blog maturity a lot too because it is creating a presence to the readers out there that you are here to stay, while google will want to take notice of you because of your ever-changing contents for so long!

Well, I found a simple formula while working on a blog. Don’t reinvent the wheel when you first started out the blog.

  1. Choose WordPress.
  2. Choose A Domain Name.
  3. Choose Good Headlines for your blog.
  4. Choose Good Headline for every post you put.
  5. Choose a frequency to write your blog.
  6. Choose FeedBurner to monitor the RSS subscribers.
  7. Choose Google Analytics to monitor your flow of traffic as you write.
  8. Choose your own style of writing.
  9. Put up Google Adsense with your blog at least.
  10. Write your blog for at least 3 months and do a review.

That’s about it. Simply focus on doing it this way as a part time basis. Make sure you set your frequency correctly. Meddle around with the Adsense for avoiding Ad Blindness.
