It is terrible if we have a blog and we don’t know what to talk about… Sometimes, do you get stuck in that situation?  I often see such a topic in many blogs I have surfed around. Let’s see if I can talk about this topic better.

Step 1: Often, when you have nothing to blog about, think “FORM”:

  1. Family
  2. Occupation
  3. Recreation
  4. Money

Look for anybody or topic that interests you… With that person or topic in mind, think “FORM” and see which letter you want to talk about.

Family
Let’s say you want to talk about Family. So, you can talk about this person has 3 children and a wife. They usually go holiday every year. Or, how to maintain a good health? We must be able to wash our hands every day before eating, we should eat 3 meals with nutritions, we must exercise regularly…

Occupation
If “Family” doesn’t suit your blog theme or your way of blogging, think of “Occupation” then. This guy is an AdSense Expert! He teaches people how to monetize their websites. Here’s one way he does to help people. He makes sure you have “contents” which mean “ka-ching”… Or, How to do a better website for contents? Is this going to make you money?

Recreation
Now, is that relevant to your blog? No? How about talking about recreation? Oh, he’s good in playing Red Alert! He is an expert in that! Nobody can beat him! Here’s the secret how he did it… ********

Money
Still not relevant? Let’s talk about money… We can talk about a money expert who teaches us how to manage our money for investments… Or, how to use your money from one income, and multiply it in another source?

Step 2: With the “Form” in mind, think of who is going to present that “FORM” to the public
Are you going to write it yourself from scratch? Or are you going to leverage on another person? Sometimes, when your momentum is not there to write yourself, leverage on others… If your momentum of writing is coming, why not give it a try to write about it?

Writing it yourself
While many people always say original content is important, you have to get the momentum to be able to write good articles. There are two ways of getting that momentum:

  1. Keep blogging everything yourself till you get your own flow…
  2. Keep reading other people’s blog… Role model them and learn their style… Start your own blog yourself and write like a pro (like them…) by yourself… And compare the two of the best blog and yours, which one would you prefer if you were the reader yourself? Keep doing it, get yourself out of your comfort zone… It will turn into a habit…

No matter what you blog, the idea is to get your own momentum… There is no point copying and pasting other people’s contents… First of all, it is illegal… Secondly, you can copy today, but can you write that same kind of content tomorrow? Blogging is something very consistent… People look to you for the kind of contents you wrote… And if a content is not written by you, it’s going to be hard to maintain that kind of quality of writing…

Now, the Internet has evolved even better way. If you don’t like to write, you can do audio podcasting or video podcasting… It is also original, however you must not be camera-shy…

Leverage on others
We can leverage on others for the kind of “FORM” information we need… There are several ways of doing that:

  1. Embed other people’s video on your blog.
  2. Write against another person’s blog either positively or negatively…
  3. Read from different books about the topic, and write what you have digested out.. Great for self-learning!
  4. Write about the same topic of another blogger, and write it your way from scratch (This post itself is the classic example).
  5. Talk about the recent news which is relevant..
  6. As you surf around the blogs, ideas might just spark for related topics.. Just write about them!
  7. You saw a comedy which talks something relevant… Go ahead and post it for people to see!

This list above shouldn’t be exhaustive limit… The limit is up to our imagination… This is about idea built upon idea… You need to innovate a little, NOT copy it all and forget about it…

Concluding
Whatever way you are doing, content is still very important in your blog. Try to restrict your content to your theme as possible… Write it in your own style… Keep doing it frequently… Set a frequency of blog entries a day… Your readers will start to understand how many you post and will keep looking forward to it… Hope you like this post!
