I have been an Internet reviewer, reviewing websites since June 2007.

Social media has been a phenomenon since 2007. It brings in the true two-way communication between the websites and their visitors. That's what Web 2.0 is all about. I aim to review what the world has become, and to give you my opinions and choices.

Over at my blog, I review you at no cost. But I will not be obliged to write reviews about your website, nor will I be obliged to write reviews positively. It is purely from my own point of view. There will have no deadline for me to finish any reviews if I am going to take up.

Please prepare your product ready for me before contacting me. Thanks. :)

You Don’t Have To Worry About Your Website Traffic After All!

By Charles On March 15, 2008 Under Online Marketing

A lot of people are very much concerned about their website traffic even before they started doing internet marketing. They will tend to get worried about the website not having people visiting, and hence they spend even more money investing in getting traffic through pay-per-click advertising, and even buying private advertisements from other relevant websites. And they will start to wonder why their website is not working well for them. Are you just one of them?

In the past, I have been thinking how to attract traffic to my websites. I was wondering how people will get to know my websites, how they even thought of linking their websites to mine, how the search engines going to give me traffic, how much money must I spend on pay-per-click before it actually works on converting those visitors into my faithful customers, and also how to make it a famous website…

One special note about pay-per-click… Although they are very effective in your internet marketing campaign, they tend to suck a lot of your money away if you are not managing them well. If your conversion rate cannot catch up with the incoming paid traffic rate, you are going to lose money… And I mean a lot of money! Many people I got to know have lost so much money that they left the Internet marketing industry and moved on to non-internet-related businesses and jobs.

Well, in actual fact, those worries are not necessary after all. Your website has very much to do with your personality actually. While many people have been thinking that building a website is like a passive business where you just wait after that, it is not true after all… Well, if you are playing with fire (paid traffic), you are going to create a lot of unnecessary expenses of bringing that traffic to your website. Although you may be making money, probably 1/3 or more of your money is going into pay-per-click companies’ pockets.

You have to think of yourself like an author of your book (website). You are going to tell the world that you have this book wherever you go. It goes the same when you are doing a physical business where you have your name card ready to give people everywhere you go. Build your website with credibility. Think like a businessman online. Go to forums, blogs, and even have a chit chat with relevant industry experts. Talk to your customers as much as you can via email, MSN, GTalk, Skype or whatever you can. FaceBook is a good choice as well. But your book (website) can contain many other things as well. Your landing page must have some substance to retain those traffic (be it paid or free) attracted to your website.

What is so difficult about doing an online business here? I once told my friend that doing business online is more like an operation than to do sales. That’s because while you are focusing on producing a good ebook, software or music as a product for your potential customers, you could be communicating with them through difference types of social sites. Treating the whole internet marketing an experience of playing online, it makes the whole new internet experience a fresh one.

Definitely, there is some difference between “working on your passion” and “working for your passion”. If you are working for your passion, you will tend to feel it like a chore even though it is your passion. But if you are working on your passion, the more you work the better you become. And of course in both ways, you will also bring in the income. It’s your choice! :)

“Charles,

I like your idea. I don’t find many blogs proudly mention freedom in blogging and not worrying too much about traffic, but I’ve seen dying blogs as no one seems to visit the blogs. So many times Online blogs money making take away the motives

I think Low or even zero traffic can make the owner become somewhat lonely, don’t you think so?
Some sincere blog owners uses blogs to express their thoughts probably hoping for some feedbacks and getting friends. If not, there would be no difference from writing on a paper diary.

Let me know what you think.”

Hi Jerome. Thanks for dropping by my blog. The real motivation of blogging is to get to know people around the world with the same interest. Well, in my blog which is along the line of “make money online”, I get to know people who are either making lots of money online or are struggling to make money online. I welcome to make friends with both kinds.
Blog is a way of expressing ourselves over the period of time. And to the new visitors, blog shows them our thoughts over the period of time. And hence, blog can help to make more friends more than looking for traffic which are coming in naturally. So, the conclusion is that you don’t have to capture the traffic by forcing them to come. You just have to open up your blog exposure through your online communication with other online friends. And blog is used as a personal identity for ourselves. :)
